My Story

Writing has never been optional. Like eating and breathing, writing is a requirement for everyday life. It's an integral part of who I am. Every day I am thankful to be able to make a career from something that brings me so much joy.

Nothing worth doing is ever easy - and the same is true for starting my writing journey. Transitioning from a typical career into full-time writing was a leap of faith, not only for myself but for my family and friends who would be my support system.

It wasnโ€™t easy getting my first break in the publishing world. Fortunately, I took the opportunity to submit my work to the Nebraska Writers Guild's publications department.  That one step opened doors and began the first chapter of my professional literary life.

I continue to work on my craft daily, finding inspiration for my poetry and short stories all around me, from my new office that streams a soft sunlight over my desk in the morning to the amazing, sharp words of my children. Every day is a gift. I'm not going to waste a single moment.

Forbidden Fruit

I am extremely proud and excited to share my latest work Forbidden Fruit: Poems of Love, Loss, Hope and Regret.

Not afraid to delve into the darkness we all face, Forbidden Fruit walks a heart-wrenching trail through our desire for love and acceptance.
